Mandatory Compliance in Ontario
Here’s what you need to know as an Employer
Starting July 1, employers in Ontario with 25 or more employees will have to put in writing and share the following information with their employees:
- 1Employer’s legal name and operating/business name (if different).
- 2Employer contact details, including address, phone number, and contact names.
- 3Anticipated work location.
- 4Employee’s starting wage rate (whether hourly or salary).
- 5Applicable pay period and pay day.
- 6General description of initial hours of work.

Critical deadline for Ontario Employers
Employers not complying with these new employment law changes would expose their business to potentially huge fines, ranging from hundreds to thousands of dollars
Between $250 and $100,000 for the first offense
Between $500 and $250,000 for the second offense
Between $5,000 and $500,000 for the third offense
